Description
The molded porcelain plate with a shallow raised foot has been painted in an intricate alternating panels of phoenixes and chrysanthemums. The central well has a gilded knot design encircled by a floral ring painted in smoky blue underglaze cobalt. Floral sprays decorate the underside. The foot ring is unglazed but the unmarked base is glazed.
MEASUREMENTS
8 ½” (21.6 cm) diameter x 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) tall. Weighs 14.6 oz (415 g)
CONDITION
There are no cracks, or breaks, but there are two rim chips. One is larger than the other. There is also a glaze chips on one of the blue and yellow fabric patterns. The glaze and gilding is worn on the ribs of the scallop molded ridges and the gilding on the rim is worn. The gilding on the rest of the plate is mostly intact.
This plate will add some shine and color to the home décor. You could see it from across the room.
