Description
Indonesia, Java. Well cast standing with his arms lowered alongside his body, the young boy nude except for a belt, bracelets, armlets, and a beaded necklace suspending a foliate pendant. His face with smiling lips, heavy-lidded eyes centered by an urna, and elegantly arched brows brows, beneath curled hair piled up into a short topknot secured by a beaded band.
Provenance: From an old private collection in Bavaria, Germany, assembled since the 1960s.
Condition: Good condition, commensurate with age. Wear, casting flaws, signs of weathering and erosion, small nicks, rubbing, and obvious losses. The bronze covered in a rich, naturally grown, dark patina.
