Description
China, 1368-1644. Of square form with incurved corners, supported on four short feet, finely molded to one side in high relief with nine immortals, the central figure riding a crane, flanked by two bearded sages above the He He twins, the rim with four further Daoist deities, the reverse with a floral motif, covered in splashed glazes of dark aubergine, turquoise, and amber color.
Provenance: From an old private collection in Bavaria, Germany, assembled since the 1960s.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, small chips, minor losses, minor touchups to the glaze, one foot with an old repair.
