Description
An antique 19th-century hand-painted porcelain figurine by Meissen Porzellan, a prominent German porcelain manufacture. Design by Ernst August Leuteritz, 1818 to 1893, a German sculptor and professor. Ca. 1870s. The piece represents god of wine Bacchus, his tutor Silenus on donkey, young bacchante feeding the animal with fruit, and cupid. Fine detail work, gilt accents. Crossed swords hallmark, embossed mark 2724 431, painted mark 10 are on the bottom of the item. Rococo German Porcelain Decor For Collectors.
