1899. London. 15 volumes of 33 volume set. All volumes are in Very Good condition. All volumes have army green cloth hard covers. A paper label on the spine of each volume. The 15 volume set is entitled, The Universal Anthology. Called Congressional Edition. Edited by Richard Garnett in 1899. Published by the Clarke Company in London, England. This is a limited edition of 500 sets for The Washington Post. This set numbered 377. The books are a collection of the best literature, ancient, medieval and modern, with biographical and explanatory notes. The front and rear covers are securely attached to the books. Some minor wear and to the covers at the edges. The top and bottom pages are smooth cut, the side of the open pages rough cut. The top of the open pages are done in gold gilt. No foxing or brown spotting. Some minor soiling in places. The book's pages are all intact, no tears, missing pages or repairs. The book's pages are well bound. Each of the books is 10.5 inches tall, by 7.5 inches across, by approximately 1.75 inches wide. , , LOT REF #21-687
