Description
REGIMENT OHIO VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. The black & white lithograph is housed in a period silver-finished ornate frame measuring approx. 23” x 29”. It depicts a rather detailed rendition of the camp and surrounding area associated with the 196th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The bottom of the lithograph reads “Drawn by A. RUGER, Co. E. 196th Reg O.H.V.I.” & “SCHMIDT & TROWE, Lith. Baltimore, MD.” The title of the print is simply “CAMP of the 196th REGT O.V.I.” CONDITION: the lithograph shows minor foxing but no notable fading. There is a small 2 1/2” tear at the base that appears to be repaired on the reverse. The lithograph has not been examined out of the frame. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker. (02-22352/BF). $200-300.
