3) Ancient Iberian Æ Semis (ca. early 2nd C. BCE). 20mm; 3.98 g. Ancient Spanish coinage from Castulo (Jae?n province, Andalusia) Obv: Diademed male head right. Rev: Bull standing right, crescent above. Ref: CNH 11; SNG BM Spain 1246. 4) Ancient Celtic Bronze Proto Ring Money (800-500 BCE). Rings measure from .75”-1.25” wide. Before the introduction of struck coinage in Celtic lands, bronze ring “money” was used as currency. These copper rings were used as trade currency by Celtic tribes in the Danube area, France, England and Ireland. Provenance: From a private NYC collection. Purchased from an antique coin dealer in in Evansham, Worcestershire, UK.
