Description
Accompanied With A Signed And Notarized Letter Of Provenance Is This Imperial Japanese Navy Model Of 1883 Dress Sword, Which Was Owned And Carried By IJN Rear Admiral Tamura Ryukichi. This Sword Has A Blade Length Of 25 Inches And Is Nickel Plated Steel. The Hilt Remains Intact, Grip Wire Is Wrapped Around It's White Stingray Grip. The Gilded Brass Back Strap And Knuckle Bow Finish Are Worn From Long Time Use. The Gold Wire Portepee Has Some Slight Fraying From Both Use And Age, But Remains Intact And In Very Good Condition. The Ray Skin Scabbard Also Shows Signs Of Use And Age, It Is Also Missing It's Scabbard Throat End Cap. Overall, This Is An Excellent Example Of Such A Model Sword With The Extra Benefit Of Having Belonged To A Noted IJN Rear Admiral As Evidenced By It's Unbroken Chain Of Provenance.
