Framed Lacquer on Wood by Frank Altamura, titled, "Night View on the Skyway", signed bottom right. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Frank Horace Altamura was an artist and art teacher who served as president of the Buffalo Society of Artists in 1962. To ease travel from busy downtown Buffalo to industrial and residential South Buffalo, The Skyway was built in 1953 as a pathway towards our city?s future. Artist Frank P. Altamura used strong lines, geometric shapes, and muted colors to reflect the urban landscape to provide a dominant sense of city life?s nighttime vitality.Overall Size: 18 1/2 x 48 1/2 in.
