PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL NOTES + METAL PINS RELATING TO WORLD CONGRESS OF PEACE FORCES. Moscow, 1973. Items likely belonging to individual named Mary Roytenberg. Including a notepad, mostly filled (in English), fixed inside a blue leatherette case (8vo) lettered in Cyrillic, indicating Moscow 1973. Notes seem to include meeting minutes, interviews, and writer's personal thoughts relating to international affairs and conflict. With several leaves of loose notes inserted in pocket on verso of upper. Note in inner plastic protective sleeve reads: "Please return to Mary Cryl [?] Roytenberg / Room 11-096 / Hotel Rossia." From notes: "Mr. Aziz Sharif of Iraq / 'We must deal with the -causes- of war + aggression' / Peace is -not- inevitable--we must not delude ourselves'" (handwritten pg. 22); "Mr. Goodleft [?] / (head of Black Journalists Assoc.) / fearful racism .S. Africa [illegible] / Exploits of blacks [?] to U.S. / U.S. scheme of genocide agst blacks" (handwritten pg. 25). * Sold with 34 related metal pins, also from Moscow, mid-late 20th c.: some pins with international themes (relating to Cuba, Canada, Ukraine, etc.); others relating to the Peace Forces, or depicting Russian national monuments; most with Cyrillic lettering. Including a pin from the 1980 OLYMPICS held at Moscow; and a pin of a Canadian flag alongside a RUSSIAN SOVIET FLAG featuring hammer and sickle on red background above a blue banner. *Additional images and detailed condition reports are available upon request.
