ASSORTED ADVERTISING TOBACCO TINS, LOT OF 24, lithographed, various sizes, including a George Washington canister for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. of Winston-Salem, NC, a Sir Walter Raleigh canister and pocket tin for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. of Winston-Salem, NC and Louisville, KY, three Kentucky Club example for various manufacturers consisting of two pocket tins and a square canister, a Sweet Cuba pie pan tin for Spaulding & Merrick of Chicago, IL, and a Bond Street canister for Philip Morris & Co. of New York City, NY and London, England, a few with remnants of tax stamps. Together with a Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco cardboard canister topped by a plastic cover. 25 pieces total. Late 19th/20th century. Pie pan tin 8 1/4" D.

Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
Condition
Most fair to very good overall condition with wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including flakes and losses to lithograph, areas of rusting, holes, and/or denting; George Washington canister with heavy rusting; Belfast canister with lithograph actively chipping and having significant losses.
