Description
This is a very rare cut glass decanter from the American Brilliant period. It is signed and cut by the Libbey Glass Co. in a beautiful amber gold color cut to clear. This is Libbey's No. 316 3pt decanter blank and it is cut in the Corinthian pattern. This pattern and blank can be seen in the ACGA reprint of the Libbey 1901-02 sales catalog. The sterling stopper is by Gorham. This footed decanter has triple faceted rings cut on the neck. The body is cut with large hobstars, strawberry diamond, fans and crosshatched triangles. The wafer foot is cut with a rayed star on the base. Libbey did not produce many color cut to clear pieces and it is extremely rare to find one. This decanter is a beautiful piece for your collection. Ca. 1900
