Description
A FINE 18TH CENTURY BURR WOOD AND FRUITWOOD RECTANGULAR TEA CADDY Attributed to Thomas Hache (1664-1747) wonderfully inlaid all over with cornucopias of flowers and trailing vines. 26 cm x 15.5 cm. Note: he earliest tea caddies that came to Europe were made of Chinese porcelain, decorated in blue and white colours, and were similar in shape to a ginger jar.
