Frances "Fanny" Flora Bond Palmer (American, 1812-1876) for Nathaniel Currier, United States. Hand-colored lithograph titled "The Old Homestead," depicting a rural scene of farm animals gathered in front of a yard, 1855.

Provenance: Distinguished Corporate Collection, Ohio.

Currier and Ives was founded by Nathaniel Currier (American, 1813-1888) in 1835 as "the Grand Central Depot for Cheap and Popular Prints," but changed its name with the addition of James Merritt Ives (American, 1824-1895) in 1857. The company created over 7000 popular lithographs depicting American life until 1907.

Condition

The sheet is toned. Some soiling and areas of foxing. Some wear along the edges. The sheet is laid down on an acidic matboard; as such, the verso was unable to be inspected. No signs of restorations when viewed under UV light. Light wear to the mat. Some wear and chips to the frame; framed under glass.
