Paul Haigh (British, b. 1949) for Bernhardt, United States. Pair of asymmetrical Sinistra chairs; part of the Opus collection of furniture designed by leading architects and designers. Wood veneer, black lacquer, and leather; designed in 1987.
Described by the artist as "the meeting of two chairs in one object: the generic side chair and the traditional barrel chair." The design would go on to win an IBD Gold Award (1987) and an award from International Design Magazine Annual Design Review (1988).
