Performing together from 1935 until 1957, Abbott and Costello were the highest paid entertainers in the world during World War II. They frequently impersonated police officers in their performances, most notably in Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Kops and season 2, episode 16 of The Abbott and Costello show, titled Police Rookies. The lot includes a photocopy of an original notarized letter of provenance signed by Bud Abbott's wife.
