Puiforcat (now owned by Hermes) was founded in 1820 by Émile Puiforcat who worked predominantly as a cutler with his brother Pierre-Joseph-Marie Puiforcat and their maternal cousin Jean-Baptiste Fuchs at rue Chapon in the Marais district of Paris. In 1857 Émile Puiforcat along with Jean-Baptiste Fuchs registered the company’s hallmark, composed as a diamond shape centered by a pocket knife in profile, flanked by the initials E and P (for Émile Puiforcat), In 1892 Laure Emilie Puiforcat granddaughter of the firm’s founder married Louis-Victor Tabouret (son of François-Louis Tabouret). Four years later in 1902 Louis-Victor assumed management of the firm and then in 1915 he changed his surname by decree to Puiforcat-Tabouret. The magnificent teapot measures roughly 14.50 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 24.50 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights 900 grams.It is stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark (certifying a minimum of 950 silver) as well as the "Puiforcat" manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark and is stamped "Puiforcat Paris" on the underside. The House of Puiforcat is currently owned by Hermes and is located at 48 Avenue Gabriel in the 8th arrondissment here in Paris. Jean Elysee Puiforcat is the founder of the art deco style and is known as the "Father of Art Deco". It comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The amazing Coffee Pot measures roughly 20.50 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 17.00 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights a massive 765 grams. It is also stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark as well as the "Puiforcat" sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark and is also stamped "Puiforcat Paris" on the underside. It comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The elegant sugar bowl measures roughly 8.50 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 10.50 cm. in diameter and weights 400 grams. It is also stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark as well as the "Puiforcat" sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark and is stamped "Puiforcat Paris" on the underside. It also comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The majestic milk / water pitcher measures roughly 18.50 cm. high, approximately 17.00 cm. across from the tip of the spout ot the end of the handle and weights 650 grams. It is also stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark as well as the "Puiforcat" sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark and is stamped "Puiforcat Paris" on the underside. It also comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The elegant cream pitcher measures approximately 10.00 cm. high, roughly 10.50 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights 217 grams. It is also stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark as well as the "Puiforcat" sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark and is stamped "Puiforcat Paris" on the underside. It also comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The massive accompanying serving tray measures approximately 64.00 cm. in length to the tips of it's handles, roughly 40.50 cm. across at its widest point and weights and astounding 2.6+ kilograms. It is also stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark but the manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark is illegible but looks like "Tetard Frères".
