Description
One of Atlantic City's most popular attractions in the 1930s/40s, was a famous diving horse at Steel Pier that dove off the end to the delight of thousands of cheering guests. This reinforced paper Mache horse was used in order for parents to get a picture of the children on the famous diving horse. A fantastic piece of early Americana in all original condition. CONDITION: There are some areas of wear due to use. There are some areas of peeling to the paper Mache, showing the original sign that hung around the horse's head for advertising the photograph. An amazing survivor of the Atlantic City Pier days. Feature piece from the lifelong collection of Bill Howard. PROVENANCE: From the lifelong collection of Bill Howard.
