This cast iron cigar cutter and trade stimulator was made to advertise Red Snapper Cigars. It is in the form of a Burro. The patron would drop a ball bearing into the top of the saddle of the Burro, which would prompt either the tail to wag or the ears to wiggle, thus "heads" or "tails." Generally used in cigar stores as a trade stimulator or on bars to see who pays for the drinks. It has a cigar nipper in the base, operational by the plunger underneath the donkey's head. This particular example shows the number "49" on the saddle and is fully operational, with Red Snapper advertising on both sides. CONDITION: An aged copper flash patina, with original ears and tail, fully operational cigar cutter and great aged patina. No breaks, cracks or repairs. It comes with one ball bearing.
