Description

A c. 1910s Owl Cigar Now 5¢ lighted sign with an outstanding original wood frame and stand, as well as jeweled eyes in the lettering. A spectacular, early advertising countertop or window display sign, made by Western Sand Blast Mfg. Co. Ornamental Glass Chicago. It retains three original maker's mark labels on the back. CONDITION: The glass has good color throughout, most notably in the exceptionally strong presenting graphic. The sign has slight surface stains in the "O" and "W" in "Owl," and a minor area of paint loss in the "O" of "Owl." The silver flake outline of the lettering has very minor fade throughout. The sign is mounted to its original wood frame and stand, as well as metal backing with original Western Stained Glass Manufacturing Company stickers. The sign is lighting, and has new electrical. Condition: (8.25). Dimensions: 34" x 6" x 26".
