Description
The National Automatic Machine Co. created this floor model penny scale in 1929. To operate, patrons step on the scale and then drop a penny into the coin slot. The dial will then spin around to their weight in pounds. After stepping off the scale, the penny drops through a pin field and is either returned to the patron or rolls through a set of ramps, ringing the "Normandy Chimes" as it rolls into the cash box. This particular scale appeared in the movie "Easy Rider." CONDITION: Fully restored condition with a beveled mirror center of the paper dial. See elsewhere in this auction for a second scale in original paint and plating. Overall a great example of a rare penny scale and perfect for those collectors who value restored condition. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Restored) Dimensions: 25" X 25" X 73"
