A brass tag identifies this as a National Scale Corporation of Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts Model No. 5 National Counting & Weighting Machine, Serial No. 48104, "Adapted for counting uniform material weighting 1/32 OZ. each and over." Another brass tag reads "Method of Testing Ratio Pan / Care should be taken so that ratio pans are of the correct weight. When ratio pan is at zero, the machine should balance; if not, balance by balance ball." This machine is complete and original, with original wheels and original wire.
