An early to mid 19th century 15ct gold chalcedony fob seal, carved for a Lady married into the Law family. Length 3.3cms. 8.8gms. The LAW family whose main family line includes the Baron and later Earl of Ellenborough of Canon Hill, Maidenhead has a number of branches, an early one of which exists in Scotland where the name commonly used is LAW(S). The maternal arms are likely that of Windsor or Duckett.
