A PAIR OF ANCIENT EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE, OBSIDIAN, AND COPPER SARCOPHAGUS EYES, 686 BC-332 BC, the carved white limestone inlaid with thin obsidian disc pupils, with traces of faience, is fitted into a copper encasing surrounding the eyes; each height: 1 7/8", width: 5 1/2", depth: 1".
Condition
Apparent damages, stains, losses, scratches, traces of faience, transfer marks, cracks, glue repairs, oxidation to copper alloy with white patina. Fragments from a larger ancient presentation, with some evidence of wood remnants.
