A MING DYNASTY "PHOENIX AND QILONG" PARCEL GILT LITERATI INK CAKE, CHINA, ATTRIBUTED TO TIANQUI REIGN (1621-1627), molded carbon with relief battling mythical beasts in mystical clouds, the phoenix with a painted eye and each with remnants of yellow gold and silver gilt decoration, the side with relief nine-character mark, the reverse with four-character intaglio mark, cased.
