FOLIO (14 x 10.75 inches), orig. 3/4 leather over cloth, 76 (of 78) fine photogravures (FROM THE BEST 19TH-CENTURY PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF HOLYOKE) and highly detailed descriptive text (all on thick paper), showing and describing paper mills and the local paper industry, public buildings, shop blocks, the river, its dam, city parks, surrounding landscapes, many fine residences, etc. Several pages annotated in ink by Holyoke resident Minnie N. Marsh, who labeled a fine view of her family’s brick mansion “The above is where we moved from Bennington in 1879...” Marginally water-stained long ago (but images themselves spared), cover-cloth wrinkled, endpapers and fly-leaves imperfect.
