The awards include a 2004 Certificate of Recognition for Roundtree's "positive portrayal of African American firefighters in the media," and a 2013 Certificate of Appreciation for "the loyal and dedicated service provided to the Arts and Entertainment Industry and the Eighth District. Measurements: 15 x 10 inches. Richard Roundtree was best known for his portrayal of private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film Shaft and four of its sequels. Over his five decades as an actor, he has appeared in some 160 film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors including Clint Eastwood, Peter O'Toole, Laurence Olivier, Samuel L.
