Description
Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, D. J. Fontana, Bill Black, Jimmy Snow and Lou Williams Rare Signed 1956 U.S. Magazine From Col. Parker's Office (Museum Collection W/COA) - This 1956 Elvis Presley magazine is signed by Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, D. J. Fontana, Bill Black, Jimmy Snow, and Lou Williams on the back cover, and represents a true piece of history from the start of Rock and Roll. Elvis toured the cities in the south with his boys Scotty Moore, D. J. Fontana, and Bill Black, the pioneers of rock and roll. Bill Black was the bassist in Elvis' early trio from 1954 to 1958. The trio played on all Elvis' first 5 records for Sun records and many of the live shows in the mid-1950s. He died May 15, 1965 and his autograph is the hardest to find. What makes this magazine ultra rare is that this one is an RCA stamped promotional copy of the magazine, as opposed to the version sold in stores. Stamped on front "Elvis Presley Show" and inside with RCA logos. Each of the autographs are signed on the portrait photo of Elvis on the back side, and Elvis' signature is stunningly fine. The magazine is also signed by singer Jimmy Snow, son of the legendary Hank Snow, who would tour with both Hank and Elvis and hang out backstage in the early days. Early autographs from Jimmy Snow are difficult to find. The last signature is Lou Williams, signed "To one of the best, Cousin Lou Williams". According to our seller, this promotional magazine comes from Colonel Tom Parkers office, stamped with "THE ELVIS SHOW". According to our seller, "I visited Colonel several times in the 1980s, became good friends and received several gifts from him. I was also honored to become a member of his personal Snowmens League in 1983." Please see photos attached. The piece comes from the collection of the Elvis & Rock N' Roll Museum in Denmark.
