Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marquis of Dalí of Púbol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989), known as Salvador Dalí, was a Spanish Surrealist artist known for his technical skill, precise drawing, and striking images and you miss at work. Born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain, Dalí received his formal education in fine arts in Madrid. His public support for the Franco regime, his business activities, and the quality and authenticity of some of his late works have also been controversial. His life and work were a major influence on other Surrealist, Pop Art, and contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst.
