15thC or earlier Burmese Bronze Arakan Buddha in Royal attire. Arakan, though the face has more of an early Mon look to it.Not quite as early, it has much in common with the face of item 8439, which was TL tested to be up to 800 years old.?It is more delicate and has more finesse than the vast majority of Burmese Buddhas in Royal attire that were made were made later on later on. It is quite large and heavy, and has a very distinctive patina to it. I have seen a few other related examples that had this same patina. People whom I have looked at these with have speculated that they may have been buried or in a fire. Very special Buddha! 12.5"H x 10"W - 11.86lbs / 5.375kg ( Base - 8.54lbs )
