Item Details

Description

A pair of heavily carved walnut 19th century Venetian monkeys, seated on a rocky outcropping, each wearing hats and holding ivory colored balls and wooden sticks.

A vintage professional color photograph from an archival album shows that these monkeys were located in the Great Hall of the Playboy Mansion West. This photograph is not included in the sale of this lot. The monkeys can also be seen in the background of many episodes of the reality television series The Girls Next Door (E!, 2005-2010), which was shot at the Mansion.
