The custom-made burgundy velvet smoking jacket features a black silk shawl lapel, red velvet sash/tie at the waist, four patch pockets at the front, rolled black silk cuffs, and black silk lining. The interior has an embroidered monogram "HMH" and a label that reads "RICK PALLACK." The jacket is in good condition with minor marks at the exterior velvet pile and minor creasing at the lapel where the interfaced backing is coming away from the silk. The custom-made black silk pajamas feature a button-down top with two front pockets and a single breast pocket, as well as matching trousers with a drawstring waist, no size or label present. The pair of black suede slippers feature brown leather insoles, made by Di Fabrizio of Los Angeles, no size present.

To elevate his signature silk smoking jacket and silk pajama look for public outings, Hefner often opted for a sleek velvet smoking jacket such as this to wear over his silk pajamas. Hefner was pictured wearing velvet evening jackets in this style on various occasions as well as home at the Playboy Mansion.
