A Chippendale carved fruitwood Pembroke table, Mid-Atlantic States, late 18th century
Provenance
Having a rectangular top, two drop leaves, with single drawer, supported by Marlborough legs on block feet, joined by shaped X-form stretchers.
H: 28 ½ in. W: 30 in. D: 20 ¾ in. (when leaves are closed)

Estate of Gwynne Garbisch McDevitt (1931-2022)
McDevitt was the daughter of Colonel Edgar William and Bernice Chrysler Garbisch.
Condition
lot 50: the top and leaves with old, rubbed patina and showing signs of wear, with darkened circles, spots, and scratches indicative of honest period use, also with one softened recessed area from old burn mark; the top is two-board, with seam evident, showing some minor loss along edge and with some minor fill, the top also with crack running parallel to seam; the leaves with some old rubbed loss to edges / corner, and one leaf with some white residue / pigment spots along edge; one stretcher with repaired break at joint; one foot missing molding cap to interior side; single drawer retaining period (if not original) brass handle
