Description
Southeast Asia, Philippines, Ifugao, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A large hunting spear with a thick wooden pole, an iron pointed butt end and a barbed harpoon shaped head. The sharp iron butt cap enables the spear to stand upright in the ground when not in use. Woven rattan strips decorate the socketing end, where the iron neck meets the wood pole. Size: 65" L x 2" W (165.1 cm x 5.1 cm)
