Two Pieces of Palissy Ware
second half 20th century, probably French, including a gray dish decorated with three fish on a bed of aquatic plants, with molded shells on the rim, h. 3-1/2", w. 22-3/4", d. 16-1/2", and a hanging plaque decorated with three Palissy fish mounted on an oval oak back, h. 30-1/2", w. 11-1/4", d. 4".

Provenance: Estate of Ann and Howard Barnett, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The fish plaque appears fine, with no signs of damage or repairs. The wooden backboard has an open shrinkage crack at the upper left edge. The oval fish charger has been professionally restored. The back side has evidence of old cracks and metal band has been added around the entire foot. The front side with scattered re-paint and touch-ups. Signed along the edge, "de Neuchers."
