The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Set of Three Pieces of Republic Period Famille Rose Porcelain Lidded Jars. The porcelain potted in a globular body heavy on the mid belly, slight deep, short neck, close mouth lip with dome lid finial bud and raised on round foot base concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of flowers bloom, salubrious mountain landscape and Chinese calligraphy lettering inscriptions poems. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.
