Description
This is an original large, silver albumen boudoir photograph of four Hunters in Montana Territory circa 1880's. The hunters are standing in front of at least ten large Montana Mule Deer recent kills on what appears to be a snowy landscape. The top is marked with their names in fountain pen, "Arthur W. Laine - A. R. Foss - E. G. A. Green - W. W. Wood". All four of the men are holding lever action large caliber rifles, with three of them holding Winchester Model 1873 Repeating Rifles. The center gentleman's rifle appears to be an extra long barrel large caliber Model 1873. Each man has an ammo belt with the third man from the left's belt being a U.S. Cavalry "U.S." marked brass buckle, clearly visible. Each has classic 1880's clothing. This is truly a fantastic early image from Montana with great subject matter. Measures overall 7 5/8" by 5". U6.
