Handwritten recollection of Prince by Owen Husney, the man credited to have discovered the young musician in 1976. Handwritten in white ink on the cover of Prince's first album ''For You'', Husney writes in full, ''In the fall of 1976, I was in my office when the owner of a small studio walked in and asked if I would listen to a studio song demo. I would get 5 to 10 demos a week, and they were all mediocre at best. I was sure this would be no different. Ten seconds into the song I turned the volume up high and walked over to the speakers. The musicianship was top notch, the guitar was funky as hell, and I noticed the keyboard was simulating strings! The lead vocal was an angelic falsetto that was instantly endearing. The song was thoroughly original. I asked who the band was and he said it wasn't a band. I was confused, was this a joke? Then, he said it was one guy playing all the instruments, singing all the vocals, writing all the music, and he just turned 18! I asked what his name was and he said Prince Nelson. I asked him the title of the song and he said, 'Soft & Wet.' I demanded that we get him on the phone immediately. That was the day my life changed forever, and so would the world of music.
