A steatite or grey schist stone carved panel done in unmistakably heraldic manor with the repititon of the phrase, "Al Mulk Lil' Allah" which translates to "The sovereignty belongs to God" or "the power belongs to God". The characters carved in an anthropomorphic style. Provenance: Habib Anavian NY purchases 4/28/11 $8,000". No definitive statement is being made as to the accuracy of the information listed above - please use this as a source of provenance and NOT fact. From a Cold Spring, NY estate. Dimensions: carved panel measures approx. 14.25" w x 12.75" h.
