Provenance:Introducing the Hamilton Electric wristwatch portion of the Saloff Collection the watches featured here are just a sneak peek debut of what is to come in our next auction. The Saloffs began collecting various antiques over a period of forty-four years. Tim researched and curated a diverse collection of over 3500 items ranging from the early Arts & Crafts, 1900-1920s period through to modern age 1960-70s pieces. Along the way they discovered Hamilton Electric watches in 1995 and were hooked. The Saloffs finding Hess Fine Art was really a match made in heaven as the owner of Hess Fine Art has also had a lifetime love of Hamilton Electric watches and even interviewed Richard Arbib himself, there is a link to that interview below. Description: Hamilton Meteor Silver Dial Vintage Mens Wrist Watch Box. Purchased directly from Rene Rondeau restored December 2004. The Meteor is one of the rarest of the Hamilton Electrics, with an estimated production of about 3000. Few are seen with the original silver dial finish. It exemplifies the futuristic styling philosophy of Richard Arbib. The "Space Race" was on, and what better to represent the future than a watch named Meteor with a tail trailing off at 7 o'clock.
