Manufactured in 1949. Features a 6" blued heavy barrel, with ramp blade front sight and rear adjustable notch sight. The left side panel of the barrel is stamped "MATCH TARGET" with the rampant Colt trademark above. Left side of the barrel is stamped with the Colt Hartford address and patent number in two lines. Matte finish top of the barrel. Left side of the slide is stamped with the legend "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE". Vertical serrations on the front and rear grip strap. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "5" assembler's mark and the Colt "VP/triangle" proof mark. The pistol is fitted with factory target style grip panels in a checkered brown marble tone with left side thumb rest for right hand shooters and matching backstrap extension. Fitted with a fully blued 10 round magazine marked "COLT/CAL. 22. L.R." on the base. Comes in the period correct Colt box and factory paperwork. CALIBER: .22 LR. S/N: 14308-S. Retains 85% original blue with light dulling and fading on the barrel and frame showing mostly on edges. Mark or scuff on the back panel of the slide, appears someone tried to color over in black. Good bore and mechanics. Box and paperwork is worn.
