Nispira style vintage Belgium Royal Luxury Syphon balance coffee maker. Gold tone with wood base and frosted glass oilette. Wood base has minor wear on corner edges. Stands 15 inches tall to handle top. Unique piece of history vintagely reproduced. In 1844, the pendulum siphon was born thanks to Adrien-Emile-François Gabet. The balance siphon was a coffeepot consisting of two containers placed side by side, one in glass for coffee and the other in ceramic for water. To obtain coffee from this new coffee pot, the water was transferred through a tube from one of the containers to the other, to weigh down and trigger a pendulum to automatically turn off the burner at the appropriate time.
