URGUPLU SUAT HAYRI: (1903-1981) Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister of Turkey for a brief period in 1965. T.L.S., Suad Urguplu, one page, 8vo, Ankara, 9th March 1965, to Victor Capron, on the printed stationery of the Prime Minister. Urguplu writes, in slightly broken English (errors retained), just a few weeks after having become Prime Minister, to thank his correspondent for their thoughtful letter 'conveying to me in its sincere words, the expression of friendly best wishes of a young Belgian for Turkey and her Prime Minister' and continuing 'Having been deeply moved by the meaningful gesture of a Belgian of your generation. My wife and I would like to take it as a taken of bright prospects of Turkish-Belgian friendship and we affectionately reciprocate your sincere feelings, and good wishes'. Accompanied by the original envelope. VG
