Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed At $150**

North America, United States, ca. 1918 to 1970 CE. A fascinating piece of Americana; an antique wooden mallard duck decoy used for hunting, made by a duplicating lathe machine and nicely painted in realistic hues with an olive green beak, a grey body, and blue and white wings. The false fowl displays a bulbous body with a pointed tail and a petite head with annular, inlaid resin eyes and a long beak. On the bottom is a metal loop used for anchoring the duck. Size: 16.25" L x 5.625" W x 7.25" H (41.3 cm x 14.3 cm x 18.4 cm)

This wooden mallard was likely produced by the Animal Trap Company of North America (ATCNA), who is more commonly known by their trade name "Victor". Manufacturing duck decoys from 1918 up into the 1970s, this company was the largest producer of duck decoys in North America in the 20th century.
