Contemporary York County-Style Fullstock Flintlock Kentucky Long Rifle
John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)
.50 caliber. 40" octagonal barrel. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Honey colored curly maple stock with carved C-scrolls, foliate scroll, cross-hatched lines, and incised lines to butt and forearm, with cheekrest to left side. Flintlock rifle with notch and blade sights. Item features double set triggers, pierced patchbox with 12 screws, and push button patchbox release to toe. Stock is fitted with wax-cast brass fittings including patchbox, plates, and a grotesque crescent moon to cheekrest. Includes brass tip ramrod. Crafted in the style of York County long rifle maker George Eister.

Condition
Very good. Bore is bright. Finish shows sprinkled pit marks scattered overall. Wood stock is in good condition. Patchbox cover was unable to be opened, release spring may need work. Action is functional.
