Die traditionelle Form einer Yoruba-Puppe (omolangidi) ist ein stilisierter Menschenkopf über einem rechteckigen Brett, das manchmal ein abstrakter Dekor ziert.

Spielerisch werden solche Rumpffiguren von Mädchen als Puppen verwendet und dementsprechend auch auf dem Rücken im Gewand getragen.

Puppen sind willkommene Übungsobjekte für Schnitzschüler, wobei dieses Werk schon eine erfahrene und geübte Hand erkennen lässt.
