17th Century Solid 18K Yellow Gold, Emerald and Enamel Pendant - This beautiful antique pendant is fashioned in solid 18k yellow gold and has a filigree border with a miniature sculpture of a child with a she-goat, inspired by the children of the de' Medici family and representing innocence. The pendant is decorated with vivid multi-colored enamels primarily in the red, green and white colors of the Italian flag. The piece is then finished with a pear shaped emerald briolette, completing the piece beautifully. AUCTION NOTE: Each item in this sale comes from the estate of Prince Lorenzo de' Medici of Italy. Prince Lorenzo de' Medici from the Medici family of Italy is an internationally recognized artist and a businessman, who has traded more than half a billion dollar in the art in his career. His father is Alessandro de' Medici who is descended from the famous Florentine Family. Ancestors of the de' Medici family include three Popes: Leo X, Clemente II and Pius IV, and two French queens: Mary and Catherine de' Medici.
