Antique Primitive Firkin, marked "Our Centennial Best 1775 - 1875". This Antique Primitive Firkin is dated 1775 to 1875 on the Lid. This piece has a beautiful patina and is a beautiful example of an Early Americana Firkin and was made for the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, the first Worlds Fair in the USA. This Centennial Exposition was held from May 10 to Nov 10 of 1876 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia. It measures 12" tall. The cover measures 12" wide and bht base is 12 3/4" wide. It has an inside depth of 10 1/4". This Firking is in Excellent Condition as pictured. See pictures for complete condition and description.
