Pressed Glass Cup Plate Base and Similar Lamp, Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. (1825-88), Sandwich, Massachusetts, c. 1830. Thick pressed flint glass plate molded without cap ring, a large pontil scar on top surface, the pattern impressed on reverse centering a framed rosette surrounded by strawberry diamond lozenges on a stippled ground, the rim with alternating sheaves of wheat and tiny hearts inside a shaped scallop-and-point edge molded without a cap ring, together with a blown-glass conical font mounted on spool stem with bladed wafer joint above a 3 3/4-inch cup plate base of similar pattern without stippling, fitted with later burner, cup plate, diam. 3 7/8, ht. 5/8 in.
