Description
Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A hand-carved greenstone pendant in the form of an abstract axe god. The blade-shaped figure features a tapered lower edge beneath a broad lower body, a squat head with gently incised facial features, and a biconically drilled suspension hole through the neck. The pendant is suspended on a modern necklace cord via a modern 14K gold loop. Size (pendant): 0.35" L x 1.16" W x 1.86" H (0.9 cm x 2.9 cm x 4.7 cm); (necklace cord): 22" L (55.9 cm); gold quality: 58.72% (equivalent to 14K+)

Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Greenstone pendant is ancient; gold loop and necklace cord are modern. Small chips to pendant, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to overall form of pendant.
